Whether for camp, speakers, Bible study, games, eating (always food!) or worshipping, Southport Christian Church youth have gathered together throughout the church's existence. What better way to build on such a strong history than with a whole new concept?

Although the idea of just a youth choir is certainly not new to churches around the country, what is new about "Southport Spirit" is that it encompasses all arts; a creative arts ministry taking youth involvement in the church to a whole new level. What better place to nurture the "artist within" than at church?

If you are in grades 6-12, and enjoy music, art, photography, acting or writing, there is a place for you here. Come and celebrate the Word with us at
Southport Christian Church . . .

Dear Southport Spirit members:
We've accomplished a lot since I last wrote, haven't we? Our time spent with Don, Kathy, and Justine Hart was fabulous and all the rehearsal time was well worth it, as you sang great! Both "Amazing Grace" and "Lord of the Dance" went very well and having the Senior Choir join us made for an amazing sound! Don was very pleased with the results of the day and with what a fine youth choir you are; it was a day we will all long remember!

Your music for Hanging of the Greens and Christmas could not have been more special, and I am so proud of all the soloists. "All is Well" touched everyone's hearts and people were still singing "Children, Go Where I Send Thee" long after you were finished singing. I am so proud of how you continue to work hard to improve your voices; it shows every time you sing.

And now we're off to a good start in 2008 with our medley of hymns and even more solos! Go to the Musicians page to see what we're singing and who has what solo.

We will not have rehearsal again until Sunday, February 10 at 4:00 p.m. I loook forward to being with you again!

Blessings ~
Barb
