Dear Southport Spirit ~
What an excellent rehearsal you had last night! Not to mention the craziness in the pool!
We are now officially ready to sing this
Sunday, August 2 for both the 9:00 and 11:00 worship services.
You know, it's always been my theory that time spent in pure fellowship builds unity, which in turn lends itself to even tighter harmonies. In the case of your music, it would seem I am right! You have listened to direction, applied the rules, prayed and played together, and the result is good -- very good. And it certainly takes us to a new level to have Dean Phelps on guitar, Doug Lofton on bass, and Jim Eads on drums! Those guys are amazing!
As you know, this week our Indianapolis area churches, along with our
General Offices will be hosting the denomination's General Assembly.
It is such a privilege to be able to have this event in our own city, and
Southport Christian Church is certainly doing its part to ensure the event's success!
One of the remarkable opportunities we have at Southport is to be hosting the Reverend Eliki Bonanga, President of Disciples of Christ Community of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Rev. Bonanga will bless our worship as he offers the sermon at both worship services.
And you will be singing!!! This Sunday is going to be an exciting day at Southport, isn't it?
I continue to be very proud of all of you
and the effort you've put into
Southport Spirit. We have such a wonderful place to worship,
and the support you get from our
congregation is amazing.
Our goal is to keep reaching for
excellence,
so that every gift of music we bring to worship is our
very best effort.
God deserves nothing less, and you are doing just that.
Take care of your voices this week, get lots of rest, and I will see you
at 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning!
Blessings ~
